Princess Name Game

In this fun shower game, each guest pairs up with a Disney princess in a bid to come up with the perfect name for the new baby.

Princess Name Game

You’ll need:

  • Small gift bag*
  • Template for Princess Name Game
  • Scissors
  • Assorted scraps of pink and purple craft paper
  • Glue stick
  • Tiny heart stickers or faux gems
  • Pink or purple curling ribbon
  • White cardstock
  • Sticker letters or permanent markers
  • Plain paper and pencils to hand out to the guests
  • Timer

* The bag shown here measures about 3 inches wide and 4 inches tall. If you use a significantly larger bag, simply enlarge the template for the crown decoration accordingly.

1. Print out the template and use the pieces to cut out the shapes from the specified colors of paper. Glue the crown center atop the base and then glue the face atop the center. Embellish the assembled crown with mini heart stickers or faux gems. Then glue the crown to the front of the gift bag. Embellish the bag handle with a piece of curled ribbon, if you like.

2. Use the sticker letters or permanent markers to spell out the Disney princess names on strips of white cardstock. Here’s a list: Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White, and Tiana. For an extra festive touch, back the name strips with pieces of decorative paper. Then put all the princess names in the bag.

3. To play the game, pass out blank sheets of paper and pencils to all the guests. Next, have each guest pull a name from the bag and, once the hostess sets the timer (for up to 5 minutes), each person quickly writes down as many baby names as she can think of that begin with the same first letter as the princess name she drew. For example, if you draw the name Mulan, you might write down Mary, Melissa, Melinda, etc. When the timer goes off, everybody takes turns reading the names they came up with aloud. Afterwards, the hostess collects the lists and gives them to the mother-to-be.

*Note: If there are more than ten guests, simply repeat the princess names on additional slips of cardstock.
