Baby’s First Time in the Nation’s Capital

It’s always a sad few days knowing my husband will be off on another long business trip soon. I try not to let it get me down so that the babes won’t notice, and we try to keep busy. Today we went for lunch at our favorite family-friendly Mexican restaurant, and then took a good old traditional “drive” into Washington, D.C.

Living only four miles from the nation’s capital, there is never a dull weekend — however, we weren’t planning on getting out because it was super hot and we didn’t have too much time to walk around. But then we found ourselves in Capitol Hill just behind the Capitol Building, and seeing there was parking available, we took advantage and enjoyed an impromptu family outing. It’s been a while since I’ve been to that side of town, and the entire area and the building itself is impressive.

We walked around, explored the garden, and took Little L out to enjoy the view. It was a lovely way to spend our last day with Papi before he headed off AND we realized it was Little L’s FIRST time out in the nation’s capital. I can’t wait until the temperatures drop so that we can spend more time outdoors and hit the museums again.

Madame Tussauds anyone?
