After a three-hour drive turned nearly five hours with two kids, I have to say I am thankful for my kids — I thought it would be an absolute nightmare, but nope. M took care of Little L, and they napped and played. It was nothing short of a Thanksgiving miracle, you could say! No screaming, fighting and generally well mannered. Wow, now that’s something to be THANKFUL for.
But during the ride, I got overly sentimental and starting thinking about not only how truly blessed I am to have them, but how thankful I am for THEM. For the way they are. For their personalities, their laughter, their hugs, their kisses, the way they need me, they way they come to me, the way they love me, they way they are MY kids.
Motherhood isn’t a walk in the park — each day is a new struggle but these little faces light up my life. And I am thankful for them, for coming into my life and completing me — today, tomorrow, and every day.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone!
