Happy Thanksgiving to one and all! Yes I am Canadian, so technically we’ve already celebrated our Thanksgiving, however I never did make my grateful list this year. 2012 has been an incredible year in so many ways, but most importantly it has been an extraordinary year for our family and I am so thankful!
It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life while running around trying to get everything done – especially as parents. Our days never, ever end! It’s also hard to stay grateful all the time when you are in the midst of a busy and hectic day, with the phone ringing and the baby crying.
The truth is there is SO much to be thankful for, no matter where or who you are.
My kids and I started a tradition earlier this year. Every night before they go to bed, we sit down and list all the things we are grateful for that day, before going to bed. It’s been really fun to hear the variety of answers from a 3-year-old’s point of view up to a 6-year-old’s. ;)
I wanted to do something similar here, so without further adieu, here are the top 10 things I’m grateful and oh so thankful for!
“All you need is love.” It’s true you know. Love is all you need.
He’s our Prince Charming, my best friend and the backbone of our family. They say true love comes but once – I grasped mine early and I’m hanging on for eternity!
These three little people are my world. They are the best things in my life and everything I do, I do for them. Words can not even begin to express the gratitude I have for having been given the responsibility and honor of being their mother.
Good friends are blessings and I’m so thankful to have plenty of those blessings for my family and our children.
If it weren’t for my camera, I wouldn’t be able to capture any of these moments. I’m overwhelmingly grateful and THANKFUL for my cameras and their ability to capture those magical moments.
Oh sweet baby toes! They grow so crazy fast that the one way for me to “hang on” is to take pictures of those perfect little feet. I’m thankful for them nonetheless. :)
Watching and participating in ‘play’ is something I am learning to love. It gives me the ability to live a little in their world and to see things from a different perspective.
The beach is my happy place. The sun, the sand, the sound of the water – it is sublime. I am thankful for the beach and the fact that we don’t have to go very far to experience it!
Pancakes For Dinner
Busy days and tight deadlines call for quick meals or takeout. As I’m not a huge fan of the latter, I like to rely on my slow cookker or quick favorites for dinner solutions. Mickey pancakes are a big hit in our house and they are so simple! Who says pancakes are reserved for breakfast anyways?
It’s the attitude people. Yes it can be annoying at times and frustrating during others, but if you go with it and capture it (psst.. video/camera), you’ll have plenty of laughs and memories for the future.
