Are you ready to make some super-sized memories with your little one this summer? Any time is a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort, especially this summer as the “Summer of Heroes” kicks off. I had so much fun exploring the new attractions and entertainment as a grown-up. But this season, it’s our babies and toddlers who are ready to hero up.
Assemble your squad for limited-time attractions and year-round resources perfect for you and your little sidekick.
Character Encounters – Grab your cape and camera for the Marvel-themed character encounters in Disney’s California Adventure. Hollywood Land now features a much bigger superhero presence, perfect for your little Spidey. Captain America and Spider-Man are just some of the heroes stopping by for meet and greets.
If your little one loves trucks and transportation, you won’t want to miss Black Widow rolling in in her tank.
Magic Shot – Did you know your Disney Photo Pass photographer can add magic to your photos? Just ask! Our new favorite is Baby Groot digitally added to your outstretched hands.
Suit Up – Drenched from water play or just ready to suit up? The Summer of Heroes features fun new merch perfect for your superhero, from tees to ears.
Face Painting – Channel your inner superhero with complimentary face painting. That’s right, FREE! Head there early in the day to avoid long lines and impatient kids.
Awesome Dance Off – Little ones can show off their moves in a Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off with Star-Lord outside the new attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! The thrilling attraction is for riders 40 inches and up, so parents who want to ride should utilize the fast pass or Rider Switch Pass. Everyone’s favorite tree, Groot, is planted nearby for photo ops too.
Disney Junior Dance Party – Once you’re done showing the Guardians your moves, make sure you head over to the all-new Disney Junior show. The interactive show features friends from your favorite Disney Junior shows, including Doc McStuffins and Princess Sofia. It’s an engaging music-filled show for toddlers and preschoolers.
Fuel Up – Family-sized fun and family-sized treats are part of the Summer of Heroes fun. We loved digging into superhero themed donuts the size of our youngest’s head and themed macarons!
Easy Access to A Bug’s Land – Crawl over to A Bug’s Land from Hollywood Land. With attractions geared for lil’ critters, it’s a fun ladybug spot for families. During the summer months, cool off in the water play area at Princess Dot’s Puddle Park.
Baby Care Center – Looking for supplies to make baby feel super? Head to the Baby Care Center (by the Ghiradelli ) for an air-conditioned lounge and nursing center. You can also restock any baby care items for a nominal fee.
Find Your Secret Lair – During summertime at Disney parks, it’s important to find your secret lair with air conditioning. My favorite spots with little ones are the Animation Academy, Frozen Live at the Hyperion, Monsters Inc., and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.
How will you hero up this summer with your little one?
