How Do You Get Baby Used to Sleeping in Her Crib?

This week, Little L will be SIX MONTHS!

OH MY GOODNESS how time just flies by. She is my second child, but wowza, I had a serious adjustment period, especially because my oldest is 4 1/2 years old and I had forgotten what it was like to have a baby in the house. I was mentally prepared for the lack of sleep, but even so, it’s been so hard to cope.

I think that’s what’s been the hardest to deal with, the lack of sleep, and frankly I’m getting desperate. My son slept pretty well, and I know each child is different. Little L was sleeping from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. for a few weeks there — then suddenly BOOM, she starting waking, and not just that, but crying at the top of her lungs and absolutely starving.

So now we are back to waking at 3 or 4 a.m., and I’m so over it! I just want her to sleep already. The other thing is that she will only sleep curled up with me in bed, in her glider, or in the carseat and stroller! From there, I will try to put her in her crib but she will instantly wake up and we have to start all over again.

I love her curling up with me, but I have to be able to put her down. I know my arms are warm and cuddly, but I’m not able to properly rest and I need some ZZZs!

So I ask you, all my fellow mommies:

What do you do to get your babies used to sleeping in their cribs?
