What Are Your Tried-and-True Potty Training Tips?

I loathe potty training.

There, I said it. I’ve potty trained two girls, and the time has come where my youngest (a boy) is ready for the potty — and I’m frozen with the sheer thought of it.

With the girls, I had to watch them 24/7 for a full week. Naked bums, accidents on floors and carpets, lots of carpet cleaner and some crying… courtesy of Mom. Everyone has a weakness and potty training is mine. It truly is.

This weekend, we began, and it didn’t go so well. I gave up after the second day and put his diaper back on.

This is where I need your help. Leave a comment with your tried-and-true potty training tips. Yours, your mother’s, your grandmother’s. What worked for your children?

Did you bribe them with treats? Were they bottomless for two weeks straight? Did you keep a close eye on them 24/7 until they got the concept?

Comment with your tips and I will round them up soon in an upcoming post!
