Little L’s First Time at the Playground

Oh, how sweet today was!

I hadn’t really thought about it, but I when I take my 4-year-old to the playground, I leave Little L in the stroller. I don’t know if it’s because she is the second child, but for some reason it hadn’t occurred to me that she was ready for the swings, or that I could let her crawl on the soft surface or just let her roam. But today, we just let her go free, and she LOVED it! Poor girl; I think she’s been wanting to let loose and explore.

Here are a few snaps of our afternoon — you can’t get any happier than she was!

  • Ready to walk

    Ready to walk

She’s 9 months and I think she’s itching to walk. Having picked up playground confidence she was quickly taking proper steps — I couldn’t keep up!

  • Faster, mami!

    Faster, mami!

After a while she was giggling so much that I dared to push her harder…and she loved it!

  • Ready to explore

    Ready to explore

At first she wouldn’t leave my side, just staring at the leaves and thinking about where she should crawl to first.

  • Swing time!

    Swing time!

Weeeeee! She was so excited to have her brother M push her. Although we had to remind him to push gently.

  • I want to climb!

    I want to climb!

She was so excited about her new found freedom she was ready to follow her brother anywhere…including up the stairs. I had to restrain her from climbing up!

  • There she goes!

    There she goes!

After a while she was an old pro at the swings. Still we pushed gently, until she was less scared.

  • The taste of fall

    The taste of fall

Despite so many new adventures, she didn’t forget to have a little taste of the leaves.

  • LOL

Most of us don’t LOL — but Little L was busting out laughing on the swings. She was so happy, she had us all in stitches just watching her!
