I am so excited to be the newest contributor here at Disney Baby. I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and my family before I get into my routine of posting all about them.
My name is Lauren Jimeson and I live in New York City with my family of five! We moved to Manhattan four years ago from Tampa, Florida where I grew up. While living in Tampa I was a sixth grade science teacher, but when we moved to NYC I decided to stay home with my daughter. Shortly after our move, I started my blog, A Mommy in the City, to chronicle our many adventures in the city and how they differed from suburban life. The move from the suburbs to the city definitely took some getting used to, especially when you have children, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
When we first moved to the city my oldest daughter,Harlan, was nine months old. She is now four and loves everything that this city has to offer. Harlan is my independent child and has been that way since she was born. She loves to talk and is such a girly girl. She will never leave our apartment without wearing a dress or a skirt of some kind. She loves the color pink and is obsessed with all of the Disney princesses.
My youngest daughter, Avery, is two years old (today!) She is the “class clown” of our family. She loves to laugh and make everyone laugh. She’s always been very outgoing and waves to everyone that she sees on the street. Avery is full of so much energy and always has a smile on her face. You can always count on Avery to cheer you up and make you laugh.
I am so happy to be able to introduce you to our newest member of the family, Macks. Macks was born on February 10 and is the first boy in a family of all girls. While he is only three weeks old, he has brought so much love and joy to our family. Having a boy is such a completely different experience and there is a learning curve that I have to get used to, but I am loving every second of it. Macks is a huge fan of eating and sleeping. He loves to be held and I love holding and cuddling with him. I am loving the newborn stage and soaking up every single second of it!
My husband, MacKay, is the backbone of our family. He is such a great father and husband to our family. When I get overwhelmed with the day to days of being a stay-at-home-working mom, he is always there to bring me back down to my happy place. He’s definitely made our transition from a family of four to a family of five so much easier on me, for which I am incredibly thankful for.
I can’t wait to share more about my family with you here on Disney Baby and get to know you more!
