Last week, Grayson, the girls, and I whipped up a fun little Valentine’s Day craft for all of our loved ones. But, I have to say — it’s just perfect for a baby to help make. Whether it’s for grandparents, godparents, or just Mom or Dad — it’s super-easy and so much fun. Grayson giggled the entire time, and we loved getting crafty while creating this handmade gift! While it might not be perfect, it’s the imperfections that make it “perfect,” and any loved one would be glad to receive it on the special holiday! In just a few simple steps with minimal craft supplies, you’ll have a masterpiece on your hands. Take a look!
Handmade from the Heart
In just a few easy steps, you’ll be sure to make someone very happy with a Valentine’s Day Handprint Canvas from baby! The best part is, you can make it completely your own. My girls wanted to spruce it up by adding a metallic border. I just love how the little imperfections make it so perfect.
Pick Your Colors
All you need is paint, a canvas and paint brushes. I went with a mint green, hot pink and pearl white to create a cherry color palette.
Paint the Canvas
First you have to paint the entire canvas the color of choice. In a hurry? Blow dry the canvas to make the paint dry quicker. Works like a charm!
Free-Hand the Heart
I had such a hard time finding the right stencil at the craft store. So, I decided to free-hand the heart. You can even let your toddler help!
Even if you heart isn’t just right, that’s what makes it from the heart. Handmade gifts are the best because they are truly created with love. Perfect or not!
This was so much fun! Grayson was laughing the entire time I painted his hand while giving me that “Mom, what are we doing?” look. I think he really enjoyed craft time.
