I am kind of a hoarder when it comes to some baby products. I like to have different options to suit different situations, and while I think there’s such a thing as too much, I also know that having a variety of types of one object has been a lifesaver many times. There is no baby essential this is more true of than the baby blanket. It’s simply necessary to have different types of blankets for different uses. It comes as no surprise that Disney Baby has a blanket to suit every need. Below are the five types I like to have on hand.
Flannel Receiving Blankets
I think of these blankets as classic baby blankets. Good for swaddling and for use as a lightweight, yet cozy cover.
Cotton Knit Reversible Blanket
This is my go-to blanket for a medium weight layer of warmth. When a receiving blanket isn’t enough, but something thicker would be too hot, this is just right. It also doubles as a play blanket, thick enough to use on the grass at the park and easy to throw in the wash.
Lightweight Swaddling Blanket
Sometimes a baby needs to be swaddled, even in the heat. This is just the right blanket for that, with a nice, loose weave. I’ve also used this type of blanket as a sunshade over the stroller; it allows some air to flow in, but keeps out the sun.
For chilly winter’s nights or simply when the air conditioning is cranked up to high, a plush blanket will keep baby super warm and cozy.
