A Dream Come True

The beautiful thing about childhood is that your imagination is allowed to run wild. Your life is a blank canvas and if you put your mind to it, you can do anything with it. As a kid I had many ambitions. I wanted to be an astronaut, an actress, a marine biologist, and a princess. No matter where my wildest dreams went, above all else, I longed to have a family and kids of my own.

I had an amazing maternal instinct and treated all babies like they were my own. I, for some reason, felt like I was manufactured to be a mommy.  Luckily, I fell in love early in life and married the most wonderful man, Shane. Together we made the most beautiful little being I have ever laid my eyes on. Baylor made me a mama. He made my dreams come true.

Today I have my dream job. I get to be a stay-at-home mom to my tiny soul mate, watch him grow, and mold him into the amazing young man I hope he will one day become. Every day we have some sort of amazing adventure to add into our story book of life. Each new day he learns something new and amazes me in a whole new way. Documenting his life is so important to me. I never want to forget the little things. I want to always remember the first time he rolled over, the first time he slept through the night, his first steps, and his first words. For me, that is what life is all about. Being able to experience those magical moments that put life into perspective is what makes me whole.

I may be young (20 to be exact. Gasp!) But I feel like I have already learned so much about life and what is truly important. I feel so blessed and lucky every day that this is the life that I get to live. I can’t imagine how empty my life would be if I didn’t have this beautiful family of mine to experience it with every day.

To be able to document those moments here, the most magical of places, is an absolute dream. I am so truly excited to be starting this new adventure here at Disney Baby. I hope you all will join in on reading and in some way experiencing our journeys with us.
