Jada has loved water from the moment she took her very first bath. Whether she’s in a pool, at the beach, or in a tub, being in water has always been a happy place for her.
But, although Jada loves the water, keeping her engaged is still important. As with most babies her age, Jada needs her bathtime to be a magical experience that allows her to learn more about the world (while giggling as much as she can).
To make bathtime fun and interesting, there are a few things I do that seem to work wonders. These things keep Jada happy, and they make bathtime one of the most pleasant parts of our day. I hope these tips help you create magical bathtime moments with your little one, too.
Use the right body wash. As a mom, choosing the right body wash is important because I want it protect and nourish my daughter’s sensitive skin. I was so happy when I discovered Winnie the Pooh Daily Renewals Natural Baby Wash – Lavender and Chamomile. This wash is sulfate-free, paraben-free and has the most amazing smell, but what matters the most is the image of Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore on the bottle. Jada gets a kick out of holding the bottle during bathtime. It’s like having a bonus toy in the tub.
Add a few tunes. Jada loves music. She is my dancing baby. For that reason, I try to have a few songs playing in the background during bathtime. It makes her happy and really gets her in the mood to have a fun time.
Make a big splash. I will admit that I would actually go into bathtime expecting to come out dry. I finally gave up on that and realized that Jada had a lot more fun when I just helped her splash as much as she wants. It’s definitely worth the wet shirt I end up in.
Switch up the toys. It is so easy to have a set of bath toys and use them over and over again, but our little ones get bored. I recently realized that bathtime was more fun for Jada if I introduced something new every week. If you’re looking for a few new toys yourself, check out these Finding Nemo squirtee toys!
