5 Things I Am Looking Forward to in the New Year

A new year always seems like a big turning point, even though the actual day is a bit arbitrary. I still love the idea of starting fresh and new and I love looking forward to things to come with anticipation. I’m not a big fan of setting huge lofty goals or resolutions for myself, but I do like looking ahead. These are a few things I’m looking forward to in the coming year.

  • A fresh start...

    A fresh start...

I love that the New Year brings with it a sense of possibility and a hint of magic…like anything can happen. I’m excited to start over fresh! (P.S. I’m giving away this calendar as a fun way to start a fresh year over on Instagram right now!)

  • A new baby

Sometimes with the hustle and bustle of chasing after a toddler I forget that I’m even pregnant, but I’m looking forward to meeting Baby #2, and I’m sure June will be here before I know it!

  • Seeing her become a big sister

Seeing her become a big sister

I can’t wait to see Fern as a big sister. Part of it is a little bittersweet, because it will mean an end to our time as a buddied up duo and she will seem even older than she already does compared to a tiny baby, but I know she’s going to love it. She’s so nurturing and completely obsessed with babies, so I’m not terribly worried about the transition – at least not yet!

  • Spending more time relaxing

2013 felt like a very busy year for our family. There were lots of remodels on the house and lots of playdates, projects and outings. This year with a new baby coming, I’m looking forward to slowing things down a bit and enjoying more time close to home. I’m also hoping to truly consider the things I say yes to and to not overextend myself.

Seeing your husband fall in love with a little one is a truly sweet experience and I loved watching the relationship between my husband and Fern develop. I can’t wait to watch it all over again with our newest little one. Also looking forward to figuring out how to tag team the parenting of two kiddos with this guy!
