For some reason, I fell in love with the idea of having a baby boy long before I had one. And now that my boys are 6 and 3 years old, I can truly say life with them is an adventure.
Here are just a few of the reasons I love having little guys around.
It's a Boy!
I was obviously a bit more excited to meet him than he was to meet me, but this is when the magic began.
The "Little Things"
You know, the ones with a lot more legs than our little creepy crawlers? I’ve gained a whole new appreciation for bugs, spider webs, and the beauty of nature thanks to my little guys. (Though I still prefer not to find nature’s finest in my bedroom.)
Plane, Trains, and Automobiles
From itty bitty plastic toys to great big excavators and passenger planes, awe-inspiring entertainment is always nearby.
I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a neat freak, but I love watching my boys dig in and explore. And, based on what I find in the laundry basket, they seem to love it too.
Let's Play Ball
Both my boys’ first word was “ball”, and to this day they use it frequently and enthusiastically. From the moment my oldest could walk, sports have had us outside, as well as laughing and exercising together.
Oh, the Noise!
Of course there are days I long for the human mute button, but the noise that comes with a boy (well, the two of mine, at least) is such a great reminder of the life and energy they bring to the world.
Do It With Gusto
Pretty much everything my boys do is physical. Even a hug usually comes in the form of a tackle. But I can’t help but love their enthusiasm for life.
That Sensitive Side
For all the chaos that comes with boys, you can’t help but fall in love with their sweet sides. The hugs, thoughtful gestures, and sweet words are enough to melt my heart.
While they may make my heart skip a beat, I relish the risks my boys are willing to take. I truly hope they carry this physical confidence and fearlessness with them throughout life.
You Never Know What They'll Get Into
When you combine my little boys’ sense of curiosity with their surprising strength, you get some pretty entertaining results. (And, in this case, soaking wet clothes.)
Dad's Little Buddy
I absolutely adore seeing my husband light up as he teaches our boys to enjoy the same things he does. There’s nothing like that father-son bond. Every time I see it, I fall in love all over again … with all my boys.
