When you’re pregnant or a new mom it feels like you have a sign on your forehead that says, “Give me unwarranted advice please.” While some of it you quickly discard, there are several things people told me that I appreciated when I was going through new experiences as a mom. I’m going to share these words of advice in a regular series of posts on this blog. First up, a little something someone told me about the first couple of weeks.
The words were very simple, they were these: “I always say it’s about surviving the first couple of weeks. After that, things get much better.”
I clung to those words as I was sleep deprived, recovering from giving birth and crying at the drop of a hat. I just kept on thinking, “Things will get easier. I can do this!” And you know what? They did. I did. You will survive and it will be awesome.
