The cupcake craze is here to stay. Not that anyone is complaining about it. Definitely not me. I think baby showers are the perfect event for cupcakes to be had over cake. For the obvious reasons. They are small and cute. Just like babies.
While my baby making days may be finito (this is still to be decided), my party planning days are far from over. Which I don’t begrudge. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to entertain and get nerdly amounts of excitement at the thought of planning my kids birthdays.
Even as a baker, I have learned that there isn’t always time to make cakes or cupcakes from scratch for special days, and have even hired out on occasion. To my own horror.
I often get my inspiration carousing the internets (as we do). I’ve been hoarding up this collection of beautiful cupcakes well suited for a Baby Girl Shower for quite some time now. Concurrent themes to be found include: Alice In Wonderland, Finding Nemo, Disney Princesses, Up, Minnie Mouse & Winnie The Pooh.
All yours for the ogling.
Swoon Worthy Collection
Diverse and darling, this collection offers choices to suit a range of styles and themes. Enjoy each little masterpiece!
Pretty In Pink
These delicious looking raspberry swirl Minnie Mouse pretties look easy enough to make or have made at your local bakery. I love the chocolate brown, cream and raspberry together. A great starting point to carry on into the rest of the shower. Timeless and as classic as the retro mouse herself.

Bright and fun, these delectable cupcake minis are begging to be eaten. If you’ll pardon the pun.

An Uncommon Pair
These may seem an odd pair, but not to their creator who made these whimsical, pastel cupcakes with her clients’ love of books in mind. Favourite characters in books to be exact. What a stellar idea, and more-so, would you just look at those? Brilliant.

We all know we wanted some of those treats that Alice was famous for nibbling on, right? It wasn’t just me, right? Purely for their delectable appearance, young children (at least when I first watched Alice In Wonderland), know not of Lewis Carroll’s underlying symbolism. Again. Y’all know what I am talking about.

Speaking of things we know, we all know that the star of Finding Nemo is a cute little girl fishie, right? Well, it turns out I was wrong. Nemo is indeed a little boy clownfish. Excuse me while I recover from years of mistaken fish gender identity from one of my favourite Disney movies. *Snicker* Not that it really matters. Either way, the cupcakes are fun and a Finding Nemo themed baby shower for a girl would be super cute.

Overload of awesome, right? I mean, all cupcakes should have a dress on them. Or shoes. Princess ones, glass slippers, sure. Whatever you’re into. I myself was nearly converted into being a Princess fan upon first glimpse of these exquisite cupcakes.

These make me want to dance. Not sure why, doesn’t really matter. Any time a cupcake looks so good you feel like dancing, before you’ve even tasted it, clearly – they are magic. That, or you’re (okay me) slightly nutters.

Obviously an ‘Up’ themed baby shower would be well-suited for boy, girl or surprise. However this specific play on colours catches me as rather feminine. Whimsical and airy. Doesn’t look too hard to do either! Cute idea.

My kind of princess. Give or take. And these cupcakes? They have me smiling with their quirky yet charming ways. How about you?

Alice In Wonderland Deluxe
These may very well be my favourite. I love the bright, contrasting colours. Baby showers don’t have to be all pale pastels. Have fun with a vibrant and classic theme such as this!
