/>Yesterday I hosted the opening of the very first Disney Baby Store at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, CA. It was so much fun to be there celebrating with all the other moms, and I also got to fondly recall all the fun times that I had with Ben and Megan when they were babies.
Disney always brings out the kid in me, and both Megan and I had big smiles on our faces as we went inside the Disney Baby Store for the first time. For moms on-the-go especially it’s important for products to be both cute and functional, so it was great to see things like gift sets that included a security blanket and a receiving blanket, and high quality apparel and outerwear that featured Mickey and Minnie Mouse! I could totally see how everything in a store was created to fit the needs of new moms. Everything happening at the Magical Moments Festival really hit home for me. The Blue Sky Riders were on hand to perform, and Kenny Loggins sang “House at Pooh Corner!”
For me though, the best part of the day was seeing the moms from Operation Shower enjoying the store opening celebration. Operation Shower is a wonderful organization that hosts baby showers for military families affected by deployment. The whole day was a big baby shower for the Operation Shower moms in attendance, and it truly warmed my heart to see them enjoying some of the fun baby shower activities we all know and love, like tasting baby food and seeing who could swaddle a baby doll the quickest!
The Disney Baby Store opening was a BLAST! I loved every minute of it, and I’ll definitely be shopping there again to find gifts for friends. –Alison Sweeney
