Many expectnant mothers and fathers choose to find out the sex of the baby during pregnancy. Nowadays, it’s fun to come up with a creative way to announce if you’re having a baby boy or a baby girl. When my friend, Sara, posted this on Instagram, I knew I had to share it with you! It’s such a fun and festive way to reveal your baby’s gender!

When I was pregnant with my son, I didn’t think about hiring a birth photographer. I guess I assumed my husband (a professional photographer and videographer) would take care of it. But the thing is, he was taking care of me. He was coaching me through contractions and helping me every step of the way. Luckily, my mom was also present. We handed her the camera and she did a pretty decent job capturing my son making his entrance into the world. I cherish those photos.
When we found out we were pregnant again, I knew I wanted to have a professional in the room with us to capture all the details of the birth. My friend, an amazing professional photographer, volunteered to provide this service for us. I am so thankful that she was there and that I didn’t have to worry about it at all. I could concentrate on laboring while my husband and mom could concentrate on helping me and making sure all the home birthing supplies were prepped and ready. Again, I cherish those photos. You can see the emotion and love in those special photographs. And I love that my babies’ births are recorded so we can look back and remember those life-changing days.
Did you hire a birth photographer? Have you considered using a photographer for future births? Check out this slideshow of some powerful birthing images.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again… I am so grateful to have been able to hire a professional photographer to take Amani’s newborn pictures. I didn’t have to put any effort into creating the gorgeous images besides making sure Amani was fed and happy.
Though our newborn session was scheduled a little later than usual, Amani was one month old at the time, I loved how it captured her so well. Alert and wide-eyed, she was absolutely adorable in her pictures. I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you all because really, who doesn’t love newborn photography?

It’s been nearly two months since you’ve last heard from me. You see, I was missing in action for a very good reason. Ten days after my due date, on May 7, I finally delivered my highly anticipated newest Disney Baby, Amani! Her name, Amani, is Arabic for “wishes;aspirations”. Honestly, I couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful home birth experience. My second! More on that to come soon.

If it seems like I’ve been a little scarce here at Disney Baby this month, it’s because our family has been a bit preoccupied with getting to know it’s newest member! Our little family of three became a family of four on June 8th with the arrival of our little Clive.
