Halloween is just a couple of weeks away. Do you know what your kiddos are going to be this year? My girls keep changing their minds. One day they want to be spiders, the next day they want to be princesses.
Most years, I like to make their costumes myself. It’s fun to do and often cheaper than buying one, especially since they’ll only wear it one night.
If you are also looking to make your own Halloween costumes, click through this great round up of DIYs. There are tutorials for every skill type – from no-sew, to more advanced!

My kids love painting. We always have to keep painting supplies on hand so that they can get creative at a moment’s notice.
A couple of years ago, when Liam was still a baby, we bought a giant pumpkin and stripped Liam down to his diaper. We went outside and let him have so much fun painting the pumpkin (and himself). He loved it, and he really loved being able to play with the hose after while we cleaned him off.

Today marked a big day in our household.
Today was the annual pulling-out-of-the-Halloween box of fun! Every season, I make a big deal out of pulling out my big plastic tub of seasonal decorations and special crafts that are dedicated just for that holiday–it’s something that I look forward to almost as much as the kids and even though we do the same things year after year, the fact that they’re a once-a-year occurrence makes them special.
This year, I had almost forgotten about the fun Halloween craft we did last year, but my kids were thrilled to discover it and have spent many happy hours hence playing with it.
And just what was this special craft? Our fun-with-felt Halloween pumpkins!

Being a stay-at-home mom of a 2-year-old and 6-month-old can be stressful — trying to feed one while entertaining the other, putting one down for a nap while the other watches cartoons or colors, chasing after my 2-year old while mixing a bottle for my 6-month-old. So you can imagine my excitement when KJ and I find an activity that can actually keep him occupied beyond 60 seconds!
Here is a list of his four favorite things to do right now:
