Ask any expecting mom and she’ll tell you that creating a nursery is one of the most exciting aspects of planning for a baby. Designing fun, functional spaces for my children was something I gave a lot of thought to during each of my pregnancies, and I loved selecting furniture and accessories that would give them room to grow! One nursery trend that I’m currently loving is woodland decor.
It’s so playful and fun and it’s not gender or age limiting. It’s also great because many decorative items can be made from natural elements around your home (think moss, rocks, and branches), and kids love the forest creatures, toadstools, and bright, cheerful color scheme.
I’ve rounded up some of my favorite woodland nursery accessories. Do you love this trend as much as I do?
Woodland Friends Mobile
Send your baby off to dreamland with this sweet woodland-themed mobile. When he wakes up he’ll be delighted to find a little bear cub, fawn, hedgehog and squirrel saying hello. I love the red pop of color from the toad stool! Find it at

The woodland theme on this cheerful print puts a modern spin on an old tradition: patchwork blankets. If you’re looking for a gender-neutral nursery theme, look no further than woodland design. This blanket is a perfect example!
Friendly Fox Print
The fox is quickly becoming the new “it” animal, following in the footsteps of the owl which gained popularity in recent years. This little guy’s curious and playful expression is sweet and mischievous at the same time. Wouldn’t he be a great addition to your nursery walls? Make him yours at
No Nursery Would be Complete without Winnie the Pooh!
This Winnie the Pooh light switch cover is a great example of how a classic nursery item can be integrated into a more contemporary theme. Who doesn’t love Winnie?

For now they’ll just be decorations but it won’t be long until your woodland-loving baby will be playing with these colorful forest gnomes. Aren’t they fun?
