Momgineer Tip #22

“When I planned my son’s room, I loved the idea of using artwork from our family. I framed drawings, paintings and doodles from my nieces and nephews. It makes a bold statement and can be changed out as I get new pieces!”

Hand Jive

30 Seconds with Baby: Set out one of those many receiving blankets you got from your registry and play a little patty-cake! Starting between 6 and 9 months, babies begin to pick up on your hand gestures, so indulge them with movement-based songs (The Itsy, Bitsy Spider is a classic) plus hand signals like waving, signing OK, doing a high-five and so on.

Toy Time

30 Seconds with Baby: It may sounds obvious, but your baby is bound to have more toys than she knows what to do with. Once a week, make it a point to take out a new or neglected activity and show your baby how it works. Alternatively, rotate your baby’s toys once in a while so everything feels new and exciting.
