Halloween Wheelchair Ideas

Halloween Wheelchair Ideas

One of my son's favorite holidays is Halloween. He always starts planning his next Halloween costume as soon as November 1st. But what's fun about his costumes is also the challenge. My son, Reese, has been in a wheelchair since he was 3. So I always wanted to incorporate the wheelchair creatively into the costume. Reese usually picks who he wants to be for Halloween early, and then the two of us work on plans on how and what to turn his wheelchair into. He has been Wall-E, Woody and Peter Pan with his wheelchair incorporate into the costume. But my favorite costume we've done together was when he was 4 years old. He wanted to be Buzz Lightyear and we had the hardest time figuring out what the wheelchair should be. We thought about Buzz's ship, but we ended up with the best design ever, The Claw Machine. Reese really wanted the claw to come down, grab his head, and lift him out of the wheelchair, but I had to say no to that idea. Good idea, but probably not the safest.
