Oh, Stuff and Fluff: Moms' Favorite Baby Gear
By Kelly Bryant
Anyone who has ever tried to compile a baby registry knows how much gear there is out there for little ones. We asked moms to share the stuff that’s been invaluable to them to help you weed out the gems from the junk.

Glider
“The glider in my baby’s nursery is hands-down the best investment we made. It’s basically become home base. We splurged on it because we wanted to make sure it was durable and comfortable for both me and my husband, and of course the baby. We’ve taken to calling it the magic chair because everyone falls asleep while rocking in it.” - Patrice K.

Baby Carrier
“My baby carrier has become a life saver. I have a 2-month-old daughter and a 3-year-old son, so being able to wear my infant makes it much easier to keep both of them happy. We can go to the park and I have free hands for my little boy when he needs my help while keeping my daughter close. I don’t know what I’d do without it.” - Crosby S.

High Chair Cover
“I really love my grocery cart/high chair cover! It makes me feel good to know Lily isn’t touching a yucky cart full of germs and she looks fabulous and fancy!” - Ana K.

Baby Food Maker
“After much debate we bought a baby food maker. At first I thought it was a stupid contraption that would just take up counter space, but since we really wanted to make our own baby food for our son, I took the plunge anyway. It really does make the cooking process easier. It’s great.” - Jacqueline R.

Sit-to-Stand Toy
“In the beginning, it was the rocking sleeper we kept next to our bed. This was the perfect place for Griffin to sleep as he dealt with reflux. Now, it’s his sit-to-stand walking toy. This kid loves to stand and walk, and the toy is perfect for that!” - Lauren D.

Hands-Free
“Mine is my hands-free pump bra — that changed my life, but that’s more mommy gear. As for baby gear, for us it was definitely the swing.” - Chenoa S.

Bouncy Chair
“I’d be lost without Daylyn’s bouncy chair! I put her in it and take her in the bathroom with me so I can shower. I feed her in it, put her to nap in it and put her in it when I need to do certain chores. I have no idea what I’m going to do when she outgrows it!” - Charity O.

Sterilizer
“It’s not a fun baby item, but I couldn’t survive without the microwaveable sterilizer for bottles and breast pump parts. It helps so much!” - Karen C.

Swaddle Blankets
“The Velcro swaddle blankets that take the guesswork out of swaddling. Who can remember how to wrap a baby like a burrito at 2 am? These keep my son snug and help him sleep at night — letting me have more sleep, too!” - Jess T.
