Thanks to Disney for sponsoring this post and giving me the Monsters, Inc. Premier Embroidered Blanket for free.
San Francisco summers aren’t like summers in other places. They are chilly and foggy, and going out requires some serious forethought about layers. Elvie tends to get hot easily, so my preference on chilly days is to put her in the kind of sweater or jacket she’ll need for the warmest part of the day and then throw an extra layer and an extra blanket in the diaper bag. Yesterday, we were planning to be out all day, and we woke up to serious fog and a chill in the air. While I might normally pack the blanket I made for her or an extra jersey knit one, I knew she’d need something a bit more substantial for the early morning and evening hours. It made perfect sense to just let her snuggle with Sulley and Mike for the day, in the form of the Monsters, Inc. Premier Embroidered Blanket. We’d used it around the house, where it proved to be nice and snuggly for all sorts of play, but we’d never taken it out before.
It ended up being just right. Tucked around her in the stroller, Elvie could snuggle up to it, and it helped her nap not once, but twice! I’ll call that a win right there. You can tell from the photos that she was warm and snuggly, just like we wanted. We will definitely take this blanket with us for other chilly San Francisco summer days.
Sulley and Mike: The Perfect Snuggle Buddies
Snuggling up first thing in the morning, on the first bus ride of the day.
There was a chill in the air, and the bus wasn’t much warmer than outside. We tucked the blanket around Elvie, and she snuggled right in.
Keeping her cozy for her first nap.
Though we were walking down crowded sidewalks and over bumpy piers, Elvie was so comfortable underneath her Sulley and Mike blanket that she didn’t wake until a boat’s steam horn blew nearby.
Second nap in a noisy restaurant.
She clearly loved touching the plush of the blanket, even in her sleep. It was an excellent choice for a classic San Francisco summer day.
