My husband and I met in a “rock” band in college so music has always been a big part of our life. We have a drum room in our house. (Not even joking.) We have a huge and diverse music library and now that we have a baby, I’ve been looking into music for kids but coming up short on things that I’d actually want to listen to as well. Luckily, I’ve found three amazing albums that are as great to listen to for adults as they are for babies. We’ve gotta teach these kids good taste in music right? Here’s my top album picks…
/>if this isn’t just the most adorable baby ever, am I right or am I right?
1. Rockaby Baby | This is a lullaby album of all Beatles tunes. They are slowed down and instrumental but you’ll easily recognize them. It’s surprisingly soothing and you might find that you listen to it even when your baby isn’t around. Kids are never too young to be introduced to the wonderful world of the Beatles!
2. Do Fun Stuff | The album was the creative collaboration of a bunch of talented musicians and a dad named Ryan Marshall. The proceeds from the album sales go to a great cause so you can indulge your musical cravings and also help out. You can read all about it on their site. The songs are written for kids but also with parents in mind. They’re fun and won’t grate on your nerves if your kids love them so much that they ask you to play them all the time.
3. Jack Johnson’s Songs & Lullabys for the Film Curious George | Jack Johnson’s voice is like butter so you know I don’t mind listening to it. The whole album is great. My favorite track on it is We’re Going To Be Friends. Give it a listen. The upbeat and fun melodies will keep your kids happy and the grown up voice and lack of baby talk will keep your ears happy.
