What Disney Baby Means To Me

I joined Disney Baby two years ago, but had no idea that this freelancing job would end up being so much more. I was familiar with the Disney Baby brand and had written about it a countless amount of times over on my site Child Mode, but it was just a company to me, one that happened to be my favourite. Over the past two years I’ve learned Disney Baby is much more than just a business, it’s a network, a family, a community.

What you read here on the site is a compilation of new product recommendations and personal stories, ones that pull on your heart strings. These stories are written by moms from different parts of the country. Moms with different cultural backgrounds and parenting styles. It’s been such an honour to work with these women on a daily basis, to have the ability to share their parenting joys and struggles along with you – the readers.

We have one of the most amazing editors here at Disney Baby. She’s so incredibly thoughtful, kind and genuine. Ekua – thank you for all you do. The light that you bring to our inboxes every day doesn’t go unnoticed and the kindness and thoughtful critic that you show us all is so appreciated. Truly!

My son has essentially grown up with Disney Baby and dare I say it… has almost outgrown the term “baby.” It’s incredibly bittersweet and I find myself trying to grasp on to that baby-like magic for as long as I possibly can.

Thank you Disney for creating a brand that cares about mothers of all ages, races, cultures and walks of life. The “magic” of Disney is not just a term, it’s the real deal. I feel blessed to have been a part of that magic during the first two years of my son’s life.

Most of all, thank YOU – the readers. Reading the comments from the moms on Facebook and here on the blog has been such a joy. It’s so nice to know that we’ve become a network of moms who support one another.

The New Mickey Mouse Collection For Spring & Summer Is Here!

No one does it better than Mickey Mouse! This handsome dude has his own line out for summer and it’s a winner! We loved the cute duds that this mouse designed last year, but I have to say, this collection *may* be even better!

From hats to flip flops, sneakers to sleepers, there is something for every little guy! Personally, I think that the towel robe would be the ideal gift for a toddler. It’s one of the cutest that Disney has designed in my opinion! If you have a little Miss, you can find a replica of this towel robe that is inspired by Minnie Mouse, over in the Disney Store.

So tell us, will you be purchasing anything from this new Mickey Mouse collection?

Snow Day Busters ~ 5 Free Printables For Tots

Does the weather have you down and out? It’s been so incredibly cold and blustery for weeks now, leaving us stuck inside the house, unable to venture into the great outdoors.

My 5-year-old and 7-year-old daughters have a routine when they get home from school. After all of their homework is completed, they choose from the huge selection of free downloadable “Frozen” colouring pages online and print them off. This morning, it occurred to me that there must be similar pages for toddlers, so of course I headed to my favourite DIY site –

What I found was a plethora of activities and printable pages (all free) that were suited for children of all ages. Some are definitely more suited for the older children, but they have a great selection for tots!

Here are 5 of my favourite printables for toddlers that are sure to cure the winter blues for at least a little while.

Two New Diaper Bags You'll Fall in Love With

Each and every time a new diaper bag design comes out, I get a little excited. Handbags have a way of dressing up an outfit, and luckily you can use diaper bags for the same purpose. Gone are the days when frumpy diaper bags were the “norm.”

Storksak and Babymel are two of my favourite diaper bag companies, and I’ve sported both with all three of my children. Leather, canvas, nylon — I’ve tried them all. These bags are a little on the pricey side, but when you take the quality and style into consideration — they are worth every penny. In fact, I’m still using a Storksak bag from six years ago!

Both Babymel and Storksak have partnered with Disney on a couple of collaborations in the past, and they’ve just introduced two new styles that I think you’ll love.

The bag pictured above is the Minnie Mouse Diaper Bag by Babymel, and comes in a super cute satchel style. The bag includes a heart-shaped Disney Baby tag, a built-in insulated bottle holder, and plenty of interior pockets. Price: $89.95, on sale for $62.96.

The black and white Mickey Mouse Diaper Bag by Storksak is a gender neutral option and comes in a stylish black and white polka dot print. This one is made from a water repellent nylon and includes a padded changing mat and insulated bottle holder. Price: $129.95, on sale now for $90.96.

What Trying to Stay Fit with an Active Toddler Really Looks Like

Fitness is something I take very seriously, and after having three children, it’s taken me quite a bit of time to get back to the shape that I’m in today. Time and a whole lot of challenges.

When babies are small, they are so easy to take care of. Sitting in their bouncer, swing, or high chair, they can watch you work, and it doesn’t take much to keep them entertained. The toddler stage is more of a challenge.

Every morning, after the kids go to school, I preoccupy my son with a book, or a game. Sometimes it works and sometimes… well. You’ll have to watch the Story below to find out.
