Bubs' First Artwork!!!!

Okay, so maybe I’m overreacting. And maybe, just maybe he’s still too little to fully understand that crayons are just for coloring and not so much for munching on. But… he did get a few scribbles in and it made me so excited that I may have framed it and hung it on the wall. What can I say, we are a household of creatives so this little guy’s first piece of art is an exciting moment.

Cultivating creativity in our son is something that is really important to me. Even if he doesn’t end up being artsy or all that creatively inclined, I still want to foster an appreciation for these types of things in him. And coloring was one of my favorite things ever as a kid, so hopefully he’ll like it too?

And, if I’m being 100% honest, I’m kind of reaching for activities to do with him. As a stay at home and work from home mom it can be tough entertaining a 16 month old. Have any ideas for other fun creative activities for me? I’d love to read them in the comments below!

Magical Memories | A Little Garden

Now that our son is a little bit bigger (he’s almost 1-1/2 years old) I’ve been trying to come up with ways to do activities together with him that are interactive and that he can learn more about the world from. I know he’s still young, but he’s extremely curious and always wants to get his hands into things so I figured that having him help me out with a little veggie and herb garden would be the way to go! He loves to touch the leaves on the flowers, stick his hands in the dirt, and point at the seedlings popping up from the ground. I’m not green thumb, that’s for sure, but I would love to instill a deep love for nature and making/growing things himself in my son.
