Spring has truly arrived, and the April showers have brought plenty of May flowers. The emergence of the sun and warm weather isn’t the only reason we have to celebrate though! This week my son turned 6 years old, and so in honor of my May baby, who is no longer a baby really, I thought I’d share some fun facts about babies born in May. From fellow famous May babies, to birth month flowers, here’s some pretty interesting and cool facts about those born in May.
With the birth of my son Hayden 9 months ago, the girls officially became outnumbered in our house. Sugar and spice and everything nice now receives a very healthy dose of puppy dog tails and slimy snails, and it really doesn’t help that my daughter loves bugs just as much as her brother! This past weekend we spent a lot of time outside digging in the garden and came across plenty of creepy crawlie bugs, and the kids couldn’t have been more in heaven. Son inspired by Spring and all that is buggy about the season, and all the time we’ll be spending outdoors, here are 20 bug inspired handmade items, crafts and even snacks, perfect for baby and toddler!
Floral patterns and flower accents are always a popular choice for baby girls, especially because flowers are found in nature all year round. Twelve months of the year, beautiful floral patterns can be found in any color scheme and in flowers perfectly suited for the season. But springtime flowers are my absolute favorite; from the pastel colors to the soft, airy blooms, the flowers that fill the air after the showers of April are the most fragrant and most visually stunning, in my opinion. So inspired by April showers and all that is spring, here are 20 different floral inspired DIY projects and handmade gifts that are perfect for baby.
Last week, Disney launched their newest app, Story, and it’s already one of my most used, fun and user friendly app that I play with on a daily basis. As a mother of 3, I yearn, on a daily basis, to capture as many little bits and pieces of our lives to hold onto as memories for years to come. Time moves fast, and 3 growing kids move even faster, and I often don’t have the opportunity to quickly whip out my digital camera to capture all the sweet and happy moments I’d like to. But my phone is with me 99% of the time and I now use that to capture a big portion of our moments.
With the advent of the Story app, I can now turn all of those hundreds of iPhone pictures I take on a weekly basis into simple, sweet stories we can all look back on and relive as often as we like.
As a mother, I feel like the most precious commodity, and therefore the most precious gift I could receive, is time. The ever elusive hourglass, and the feeling of just not enough hours in the day. Even on the days when we’re at our best and can tackle the to-do list with admirable force, we rarely are left with much time left to do what we please. Raising these kids is such a gift and a huge blessing, one I don’t take for granted. But I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t love a bit more time every now and then to accomplish some personal to-dos that have nothing to do with baby food, diapering, cleaning or running carpool. Here are ten things I would do on Mother’s Day, if I just had a few hours to myself!
