Sleeping Through the Night for the First Time

Yeah, so this happened. And I feel like a brand new woman! It’s amazing what an extra half hour of sleep can do for you. I guess it’s not so much about the actual length of time, it’s more about the fact that it’s uninterrupted sleep. Hallelujah! When I woke up and looked at the clock I had to check to make sure my baby was still breathing I was in such shock. Here’s what we did a little different that I think contributed to our restful night: baby milestones

1. Dressed him in long sleeve, footsie pajamas. I’ve become slightly lazy when it comes to changing him into pajamas and because it’s been so warm, I didn’t think it would make that much of a difference. I need to remember babies like to be toasty!

2. Made sure the swaddle was too tight for his arms to break free. Beck has become more and more wiggly and if his arms aren’t swaddled down; they’re flailing in his face and waking him up.

3. Fed him a little extra before he fell asleep. Just an ounce or so keeps him content.

4. Took him out of our room. Now any little noise we make doesn’t bother him and vise versa.
