I was looking through the birthday card rack a couple of weeks ago, trying to find a card with the most meaningful message for my grandmother. Three stores later, I finally found it. Something that should have taken a few minutes ended up taking up my entire morning.

This experience got me thinking. Why on earth didn’t I just write my own message? Why couldn’t I have come up with my own greeting instead of searching for the ‘perfect’ commercial one?

If you are planning a baby shower, I’m sure you’re experiencing the same issue. Some parents prefer cutesy greetings, some more heartfelt, and others like the generalized cards. There are many templates out there that allow you to create your own invite, while placing your own message inside.
