Diaper cakes are so popular at baby showers and although they are definitely a super cute way to gift the expectant mama with some diapers for her little one, there are some smaller alternatives to the traditional cake that you may want to consider in addition to or instead of the big diaper cake.
What I love about these adorable ‘sweet’s is that they can be made at home quite easily using rolled up baby washcloths, a little tape, and some paper. Not the crafty type or don’t have the time? These are some of my favourite cupcakes, sushi rolls, and lollipops that are adorable and affordable.
Cupcakes
Each batch of these ‘cupcakes’ are made fresh to order. The set you see here are made using 4 baby washcloths, 2 pairs of socks and 4 silicone baking cups.
Swirly Lollipops
Swirly lollipops are tasty and pleasing to the eye. The washcloth version is such a fun gift or centerpiece idea for your upcoming baby shower.
Sushi
SUSHI! Need we really say more? 8 baby washcloths are rolled up like sushi and are then laid in a bed of ‘greens’ and packaged to-go’.
Gender Neutral Bouquet
Not sure if mama is having a boy or a girl? This gender neutral bouquet is the perfect bright and cheery choice.
Swirly Cupcakes
Everything is better with a cherry on top! These sweet mini cupcakes are made with 4 terry burp cloths and 4 washcloths. Too cute!
Lollipop Washcloth
This set of 12 baby washcloth lollipops are made individually using 1 baby feeding spoon or fork and a baby washcloth. This particular Etsy listing sells them in a set of 12.
Ice Cream
Do you prefer mango or berry? Pair different ice cream flavors together to create yummy combos. Each ice cream cone comes individually wrapped or you can have them packaged in a kraft color gift bag with tissue paper.
Bouquets
A blue or pink bouquet of ‘rosebuds’ is made up of 6 washcloths carefully wrapped in scrapbook paper and tied with a pretty ribbon and gift tag.
Banana Split
Like a real banana split, this baby gift version has a little bit of everything. 3 diapers, 1 washcloth, 1 pair of socks and 2 cherries, all tied up with ribbons.
From sushi rolls to lollipops, there is something here to suit just about any taste ;). Which ones are your favorite?
