A Toddler's Favorite Foods

Toddlers can be finicky eaters. One day they love one particular food, and the next day, they want nothing to do with it. I know this because my baby boy has been going through phases of loving certain foods, but then changing his mind a few days later. We tend to just go with the flow, offering him different food and just waiting it out until he decides to eat it. I try to vary his options each day too, so he won’t get tired of eating the same thing every day.

My baby boy loves to eat breakfast foods, though. That is always our back-up plan if the food we offer him is rejected and he doesn’t come eat it after a while. He sometimes asks for various breakfast foods by name too, so I know he truly does love them. Additionally, there are other foods my 2-year-old consistently eats. Here are 10 foods my toddler currently loves. Let’s hope these foods stay on his list for a while!

  1. Chicken nuggets
  2. Mashed potatoes (He calls them ‘ta-toes’.)
  3. Scrambled eggs
  4. Pancakes
  5. Waffles
  6. Sandwich (Specifically, this is some deli meat in a piece of bread with mayo.)
  7. Pizza
  8. Bread (He sometimes just wants a slice of bread with nothing more.)
  9. Cheese
  10. Yellow rice
