The Holidays: A Magical Season of Baby Firsts
This holiday season has been infinitely more exciting than it has been in recent memory and it’s all because I have a little person to share it with. There is just something about sharing new things with your own child that is completely magical and memorable and lovely and I am soaking up every last one of these “firsts” during this holiday season that has been chock full of them! What special firsts have you and your little one experienced this holiday season? Here are a few of ours…
First time meeting Santa...
Fern’s first time meeting Santa was quite the whirlwind, since they like to shuffle you through so quickly, but it was still fun. It was hard to get a photo of her looking at the camera, because she was so entranced by his beard and definitely gave it a good hard tug. Ooops! Sorry Santa!
First Christmas tree...
Our family tree hunt didn’t go exactly as planned, but really, what does when you’re dealing with the unpredictability of babies? It was still completely memorable though!

First horse and carriage ride...
While we were away on our first mountain adventure, we stopped for a horse and carriage ride which was a fun and festive first. Fern loved checking out the horse with her Grandpa.
First stocking...
I can’t tell you how excited I was about this particular first. Stockings have always been one of my most favorite parts of Christmas and I searched high and low for the perfect on for Fern. I finally found this adorable upcycled stocking on Etsy from the shop Away Up North. I love that it can grow with Fern and the woodsy theme goes with all of my other Christmas decor…although her awesome stocking is making my hand-sewn ones look pretty lame. Perhaps it’s time to upgrade. Can’t wait to fill up her stocking with fun little goodies!

First ornament...
We have a yearly ornament tradition in our house, so it was fun to start the tradition with a sweet and simple one to commemorate Fern’s first Christmas.

First snow...
This was probably the most fun first that we’ve experienced so far. Seeing Fern’s reaction to the snow when we went away for a weekend in the mountains was completely priceless!
