The Bubs on Beds, a Retrospective

I took this photo hours after he was born. He came to us a little after 6am in the morning, so this photo was later in the day, once we’d all rested up. Little Bubs. I can’t believe how tiny he was!

I remember taking this photo. It was one of the first mini photo shoots I did of our son. The light in our bedroom was so soft and pretty that day. There’s one from this set that is among my all time favorites. I love his little fingers.

He looks so long and lanky in this one. He must have gone through a little growth spurt around this time. Those leg warmers as so loose. Now they barely fit his calves!

I took this as a funny Valentine’s Day photo and it still cracks me up. He started to look like such a little man around this time.

When it was happening I never noticed it but looking back I can see where he started to pork up and then would grow and lean back out. This was one of those times. His face started to round out.

His personality was starting to really shine through around this time. He also got super expressive with his eyebrows and a bit goofy.

He was all about hiding in those thin blankets. He would pull them up over his face and then drag them down. I think he liked how it felt. Little man.

Look at this little chunker. He was so small when he was born (he came 3 weeks early!) so when he chunked up it seemed so dramatic. This is around the time when he really started to become his own little person. Look at that face!

This is one of my favorite photos of our son. His eyebrows kill me. They have become his notorious defining feature. He had them up for a few months straight it seemed. This was also when he started really trying to be mobile on his own.

Ha! He porked out again around six months and this photo is so hilarious to me. I’m sure he’ll hate it one day but I just love how silly he is being. He would make the funniest faces and noises, just on his own, entertaining himself.

This is my little man! His whole face and look changed so very much from his 6 month to his 8. He looks like a kid here to me instead of like a baby. I can see exactly who I know him as in this photo. I love that smile.

He is 10 months old now. And it’s actually quite difficult to get him to stay laying on his back for a photo. (Hence the bottle bribe here!) He’s moving and grooving all day long. Crawling, standing, and trying to walk. I have a feeling the days of The Bubs on Beds are behind us. :)
