Stylish Family Living: The Colemans

I think there’s a common misconception that the moment a child joins a family, stylish interior living goes downhill. Their toys and messes take over the house and there’s no way you’re going to own anything nice, because they’ll surely destroy it. But I love parents who turn that notion on its head and still have beautiful homes that work with the children, not against them. I love when the homes looked lived and loved in, and where there’s evidence that children live there. So the Coleman’s home that was featured in a recent issue of Anthology caught my eye. See for yourself.

I don’t think I’d ever be organized enough to have an open closet plan, but Meta pulls it off beautifully in her daughter’s room.

Meta was unhappy with the styles of children’s beds that were available, so she designed this one herself.
