Soren's Star Wars Themed Nursery
The day we found out we were having a boy was the day we decided to have a Star Wars themed nursery. To be honest, I had been very against having a themed nursery and very much for the idea of having something simple and subtle and not too cheesy or over the top. So the fact that I was so gung-ho about theming our son’s nursery really surprised my husband, Jon.
In order to create a space that we both really liked for our son, in hopes that he would really love it too…we decided to approach the theme in a whole new way. We didn’t want to be too “fanboy” about the theme, but instead do something a little unexpected, but still true to our theme. We went with a bright and playful color palette and added in beautiful artwork and Lego models that we loved. We were so thrilled with the end result and now it’s our favorite room in the house. ;) We just hope little Soren will grow to love Star Wars and Legos as much as his daddy. ;)
We originally bought this dresser at a thrift store for $30, sanded it down, added a fresh coat of beautiful bright blue paint and added new hardware. This piece really stands out in his room and doubles perfectly as a changing table!
We couldn’t help but display Soren’s growing book collection. We love how these shelves display the books in a way that makes them artwork.
This cube shelf was perfect for displaying some of our favorite decorations and storing newborn needs. We love that this bookcase is a great transitional piece as Soren grows.
Jon has a growing Lego collection and we wanted to take the opportunity to display some of our favorite Star Wars sets in Soren’s room. We love how these look in his space. Of course, we’ll have to move these out of reach once Soren starts walking.
Rocking Him to Sleep
We really wanted to create a special place in his room that we could nurse, read stories together and cuddle. I love how the star decals and lanterns make this space so special.
Light it Up
Incorporating nice lighting into the room that we could use beside the main room light was great for creating a calm and inviting atmosphere.
These shelves are perfect for displaying our favorite treasures.
I love how this simple detail adds such a nice touch of character to the room and the artwork displayed.
By adding in everything the baby will need and fun storage, we were able to create a cozy and useful room with all of our necessities for Soren.
A Place to Grow
Soren’s room was decorated with lots of love. It’s so wonderful to have this special space to watch him grow and play.
