Sew a Complete Baby Quilt in a Day
Have you ever had those moments of panic where you realize you have no baby gift to bring to the party? I have good news and bad news. Bad news is, I wish there was a DIY for avoiding procrastination, but haven’t found it yet (let me know if you do). Good news is, here’s a heartfelt project you can get done the day before. A new mama can never have too many handmade baby quilts, so let’s get started on how to Sew a Complete Baby Quilt in a Day…
Start sewing your quilt with the Introduction to Cheater Quilts tutorial. By cheater we mean, saving you the trouble of cutting and sewing each square. Keep your eyes open for fabrics that are already printed to look like patchwork or appliqué. This leaves you with just the work of quilting and binding, which can be done in a whole 30 minutes.
Speaking of binding, you will finish your quilt by following the Machine Quilt Binding 101 + Quilt Binding DIY. You can either buy store bought binding or make your own in the fabric of your choosing, I promise it’s not too hard. Next, I’ll walk you through the steps of binding your adorable quilt with the sewing machine. Before you know it you’ll have a complete quilt in your hands. Happy sewing!
