This Monsters University 1st birthday party that I get to share with you guys today is seriously amazing! But, I guess those are the perks of having an event planner Miriam Corona for a mama. When Miriam’s little boy Matteo turned one, she pulled out all the stops and put together a true extravaganza. One of the most creative and detail-filled events I’ve ever seen. When asked about her inspiration Miriam says, “I was inspired to create a Monster Bash 1st birthday party because his birthday is so close to Halloween. I knew I wanted the party to be a costume party and with the release of the new Disney movie, Monsters University, I imagined how fun it would be to see the entire crew of adorable baby monsters dressed up for the occasion! After taking a trip to Disneyland to celebrate Matteo’s actual birthday, I was more than ready to create some magic at his birthday party!” Check out all the adorable details!
Real Party Inspiration: Matteo’s Monsters University 1st Birthday
The cutest little birthday party I ever did see!
These table centerpieces are so much fun!
A seat for the guest of honor
Such a fun and festive set-up for the birthday boy!
A fun place for guests to snap photos and I love that the letters to spell out “ONE” have a little added Mike flair.
These photo ID badges were a fun touch, “personalized for the guests and handed out to the ‘students’ and ‘faculty members’ to wear at the party. That was a big hit with our guests!”
Movie Concession Snack Boxes
“Inside the kids concessions party favor boxes were Monsters University Gummy Eyeballs, Fruit Snacks, Rice Krisy Treats, Candies and 3-D Glasses!” These are so cute!
Personalized pencil favors
What a cute favor idea! I love that these pencils are a gift that are both personalized and practical. Guests were also given other Monsters Inc. school supplies (notebooks, pencil pouches, coloring books…) as party favors along with their pencils.
Cutest little monster
How adorable is Matteo in his little monster costume?
Mike Wazowski Punch
Simple green punch and a stick-on wiggly eye instantly make party drinks more fun and Mike-esque.
The food for this party was truly inspired. How great are these pretzels?
Adding labels and fun names for the snacks at the party was a great way to incorporate the theme and make it all feel truly special.
These monster cupcakes are the coolest!
Simple snack food suddenly become “monster claws” and I love those pez dispensers that double as decor.
These are seriously genius. It can be difficult to incorporate non-sweet treats into party food, but these ham and cheese sandwiches when cut out and given an added candy eyeball are so much fun! They remind me of George from Monsters Inc. (pre-shave of course!).
Sometimes birthdays can be filled with nothing but “kid food”, but Miriam was sure to include more adult foods in the mix for guests while still keeping with her theme. “Monster Greens”, “Monster Macaroni” and “Monster Nachos” were just a few of the lunch time offerings guests could choose from.
The dessert table
This dessert table is kind of mind blowing. So many fantastic details!
The Birthday Cake!
This birthday cake is pretty much a work of art.
A close-up of some candy bar details.
Personalized Banner for Matteo!
This banner is probably my favorite detail of the party. Each letter is made to resemble one of the Monsters characters. It really is the little things.
I love that mom and dad got in on the fun and dressed up for the occasion! This family photo is so sweet! Thank you so much Miriam for letting me share your little one’s special day!
Thanks for letting me share Matteo’s amazing birthday bash Miriam! You did a fantastic job!
