Six months was one of my very favorite ages. Soren grew so much and was able to interact so much more with Jon and I. He giggled, smiled and was so curious about the world around him.
Here are a few of our favorite games to play with our 6-month-old:
The Name Game – This is a great way to start teaching little one about words, objects, colors and people. Walk around the house pointing out different objects or people, and recite the name of the object or person. You can also sit them down and hand them different objects for them to explore as you name them.
Silly Sounds – Lay your baby on the ground and sit next to them making silly sounds and playing peek-a-boo at the same time. If they make a sound, mimic their sounds back. You’re sure to get a giggle out of them. The sillier the better. ;) Babies LOVE animated faces and positive sounds. :)
Knock It Down – While Soren doesn’t have the motor skills to build a tower with his blocks, he loves when I build a tower and let him knock it down. I try to be really animated and respond to him with enthusiasm. Since he’s crawling now, after I build a tower, I’ll call to him to come and get it. He loves coming to me, and as soon as he sees that tower, he reaches for it to knock it down.
