"Pamper Night" Checklist for Moms

After meeting the demands of your new little one day in and day out, sometimes Mama just needs some time to herself to refresh and rejuvenate. Lately, my husband has been pushing me to make sure I get this special time for myself at least one time each week. It can be hard to stop and ask for help in the midst of being busy and caring for baby, but it’s important to remember you need a break! It’s tempting to wait until you reach a point of desperation before saying, “Help! I need some me time!

One of the things I love doing the most is just taking time to pamper myself and do something special for my body. Below is my pamper night checklist for those days when you need a pick-me-up. :)

PREP TIME
_ Put on your favorite music playlist or must-see show.
_ Turn down the lights and light your favorite scented candle. I’m loving lemon lately!
_ Pick out the coziest PJs you own.
_ Get all of the days grime off your face by removing any make-up and using a cleanser.
_ Draw a warm bath and top it off with a bath bomb, epsom salt or bubbles.
_ While the bath is filling up, throw your hair up and put on a relaxing face mask.

BATH
_ With your face mask still on, enjoy your nice toasty bath.
_ Use a sugar scrub to exfoliate your skin.
_ Lay back and just be still, let all of the stresses of your day go. Think about things that bring you joy!

SKIN LOVIN
_ After bath-time, wash off your face-mask with warm water and follow up with a moisturizer.
_ Apply your favorite body lotion.
_ Put on your favorite PJs or robe.

BRING THE SALON HOME
_ Sneak into the kitchen for a nice hot beverage and a healthy snack. And yes, chocolate covered strawberries ARE healthy. ;)
_ Cuddle up on your bed or coach while watching a favorite show or listening to music and give yourself a manicure and pedicure, try a fun pop of color for the Spring!

Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a busy mom feel human again. Remember to love on yourself and schedule some “me” time soon! You won’t regret it. :)
