Life as the Little Sister

I am the oldest child in my family, so it’s been really fun for me to watch my own first child become an older sister.

We’ve been lucky that Ella absolutely adores our newest little family member, but sometimes she loves her just a little too much. Fortunately, Ani is a pretty good sport about it most of the time.

Last week, while I was taking pictures of Ani to mark her three-month birthday, Ella decided she needed to be involved. I loved all the funny expressions on Ani’s face as she got “snuggled.” I could only imagine what was going through her mind:

Just sitting here on my own. Nothing much to say.

My older sister! She loves me!

Actually, she might love me a little too much. . .

I can handle an arm around me, I guess.

Okay, this is getting a little bit much

Mom! Help!

This too shall pass

From bad to worse.

Why? WHY?!

And now there's a stuffed dog on me? Sigh.

I survived that. It's not so bad being a little sister
