We love our babies. We really, really love our babies! When your little one is born on or around Valentine’s Day, it’s almost as if we get to double up on the love! What a better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with the arrival of the exact thing that makes your heart pound out of your chest? Joy Wilson of Nashville Moms was lucky enough to receive the sweetest Valentine one year. Check out the lovely valentine inspired party she hosted when her daughter turned 2.
You may remember her daughter’s Little Golden Books inspired first birthday party. Joy really has a knack for throwing beautiful and easy going birthday parties that focus on the most important thing, the birthday girl!
Valentine’s Birthday Mantel
Beautiful decorations don’t have to cost a lot or be difficult to make. The large “2” is cut from cardboard and covered with pink doilies.
The heart garlands are made from kraft paper hearts and pink heart doilies, both machine sewn by mom.
A sweet and simple poem sets the tone in this creative Valentine inspired birthday party invitation.
Balloons and heart doilies are perfectly easy to recreate party decor. It’s unfussy but oh-so-pretty.
Elevate the cute factor of plain paper lunch bags with pretty washi tape and “xoxo” stamps. I love that the paper bags mimic the kraft paper heart garland on the mantel.
Heart Shaped Scones
A Valentine themed party is the perfect time to serve up as many heart shaped foods as possible. Scones get a sweet dose of cuteness when served as adorable little hearts.
Along with the heart scones, Joy also served heart shaped cheese with crackers and heart shaped strawberries.
Activities don’t have to be complicated for little ones. This set up features heart doilies, stickers, and crayons. It’s just right for a small set of toddlers to create little love notes for each other.
Sweet and Simple
With such a simple and unfussy party, it only made sense to create an equally simple birthday cake. The soft pink hue is just right for the theme, while the “2” candle mimics the doily “2” on the mantel.
