I’m very excited to introduce myself to this community. First off, I am incredibly thankful and humbled to be in such great company here. My name is Lacy. I’m married to Phil. Together, we have two amazing girls: Adair Lynden, 2, and Ingrid Grey, 11 months. We are big dreamers, living on love in the Midwest. Here’s a little bit more about each of us:
/>Adair is the wild child. She’s sweet and kind, but independent and daring. She knows all the songs from The Sound of Music and prefers to be outdoors. She doesn’t like hot dogs or mac and cheese, but she does love bacon and birthday cake. She likes to yell out “Buffalo!” when she’s worried. She’s her daddy’s girl.
Ingrid is a mama’s girl. (One for each of us, hey!) When she’s not nursing or sleeping, she’s usually bugging her sister or playing the drums. She doesn’t really like food and she prefers to slither around on her belly like a snake. She has such blonde hair and such blue eyes. She is the reason I haven’t gotten a solid night’s sleep in forever. Good thing she’s worth it.
Phil is my better, skinnier half. I first saw him at a Christmas party. He was wearing a trapper hat, which explains a lot of things. He has big dreams and a huge heart. He loves bacon and reads Hemingway and has taken on the responsibility of washing the dishes and the cloth diapers. In other words, he’s a keeper.
Me? Well, I’m just trying to juggle all the balls. I used to be a high school English teacher, but now I work from home and stay home with my girls. I prefer sweets, the autumn season, and a good dose of Beyonce. I love to write, sing, cook, and be outdoors. Becoming a mom has transformed all that I am, and I am thankful for that.
