Easy DIY Baby Shower Favors
Baby shower favors are a nice idea in theory, but a lot of times they’re just a waste of money. Most party favors are something you could never really use – just super cutesy throw-aways. I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to spend money on a party favor, I want it to be something that people will actually want to keep. That said, I also don’t want to spend a fortune on party favors. This is where these DIY favors come in.
DIY Baby Shower Favors
These favors are cute, simple, useful and inexpensive – all good criteria for a DIY in my book.
1. Gather up your supplies
For this project you’ll need: *small plants – I used succulents and cacti since they’re quite hardy, *a white paint pen, *yarn, and *laminate counter samples – they can be found at most home improvement stores for free.
2. Decorate your plant tag
Using your white paint pen, decorate your laminate counter samples. I drew a variety of designs and words. Get creative!
3. Wrap your pot
Tie your yarn around your pot once and then start wrapping it around the pot. Continue wrapping the yarn around your pot until the entire surface is covered.
4. Tie on your tag
Thread a piece of yarn through the hole in your “plant tag” (i.e. your laminate counter sample) and tie it on to the pot.
5. Sit back and admire your handiwork
You just finished a party favor that shower guests will love to receive and they’ll be so thankful it’s not another tin of mints!
