Follow this simple step by step tutorial to create a DIY Disney themed book mobile for Baby’s nursery.

  • Supplies

    Thrifted Winnie the Pooh book
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
    Regular glue
Twine (or ribbon, bakers twine, finishing line, yarn, etc.)

  • Step 1

    Step 1

Begin by carefully removing all of the pages from the book leaving the hardcover. If you rip into the pages, just use your scissors to trim the page for a straight edge.

Be sure to remove any and all bits of pages left in the spine.

  • Step 2

    Step 2

Using a single line of glue clear across the long side of the page, bring the other side of the page to stick together. Be careful not to crease the center of the page.

I held the page in place for a few seconds until the glue adhered.

  • Single Page

Here is what a single prepared page should look like. Long sides of the pages brought together, no crease or fold in the center.

  • Prepared Pages

Continue preparing all the pages in the same way. It’s much easier to have all the pages ready to go versus stopping to prep each page as you assemble the mobile.

  • Step 3

    Step 3

Before you begin to glue your pages in, attach your preferred method of hanging the mobile. I went with a plain twine, but any of the options I listed in the supplies list would look great.

I took a long piece of twine and hot glued it evenly in the center of the spine. I went with a long strand so that I could adjust the height in the nursery once it was time to hang.

  • Step 4

    Step 4

Now the exciting part! Using the hot glue gun, begin gluing the prepared pages into the book.

Start with the inside of the spine and work your way out.

There’s no wrong way to do this! Just glue in the pages in a way that visually appeals to you.

  • Assembly

I found it easiest to add the pages while the book was on it’s side. This allowed me to see how the added pages were cascading in the book.

Continue adding the pages until you’ve used them up or until you are satisfied with the look.
