Daddies Diaper Too

Hi. I’m Chad, I’m a dad, and I change diapers.  Specifically of the little one you see me holding here.

I’m the new “dad blogger” joining disneybaby.com and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

I’m the husband to an amazing woman, dad to a 10-month-old (insert time flying clichés here) and food source to Blazer, our dog.  He’s still wondering if this additional human we brought home in September is going to be staying around.

I say, “I change diapers too” because this is an exciting time to be a dad.  Fathers are playing a more active, engaged, and involved role in their children’s lives than ever before.  We are excited to have play dates, be involved in decision making, and yes, change dirty diapers.  I’m 10 months in and while exhausted at times, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Becoming a parent is like walking into an entire new life.  Bringing with you experiences and lessons but knowing there is so much more you don’t know ahead.  I’m certainly no different.  I spent more than 10 years working in the TV journalism industry, and started writing a blog on a whim to document my fatherhood journey.  Who knew this is where that journey would lead?  The blog led to a podcast with a fellow new father, that led to starting dadswhodiaper.com a new dad focused parenting website, which along with the blog, led to the amazing folks at Disney Baby finding me, and here I am.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d be writing for Disney but I’ve walked, no run, into this new life and never looked back.

I can’t wait to share with you our parenting journey, maybe with a slightly different take.  Us dads, we can have a unique perspective.  I hope you’ll join us, share with us, and reach out.  While we alone may be dads or moms, in the end we are all one thing…parents.  I look forward to hearing from you as my Disney journey begins.
