Coming Home

I mentioned last week that I was out of town for the weekend without my daughter.

When I got home, she was down for a nap (thank you, husband!), so I spent a little quiet time getting my life put back together, unpacking, eating some real food (one can only survive on airline peanuts for so long), and replying to some emails.

And then I heard her wake up and when I opened her door, her face lit up with this enormous grin and she exclaimed, “You came back!”

Some moments make you just overwhelmingly glad to be the mommy.
