8 Fun Bilingual Board Books for Baby (Spanish and English)
Having been born in Puerto Rico, and living there until the age of eight, means that Spanish was my first language. I try hard to speak Spanish with my kids, sing to them in Spanish, and read to them in Spanish. Since their dad doesn’t speak Spanish, I am their only source for the language. It’s hard and I don’t always get it right, but exposing them to this second language is something I am going to keep doing so they learn about half of their heritage and culture.
Board books are a great help since they provide kids with a visual when hearing the words in Spanish. Bilingual board books in English and Spanish are even better because anyone in the house can read them to Baby – even big sister! Here are a few ideas for board books to get you started.
