Best FREE New Year's e-Cards for Baby's First New Year
If you weren’t quite diligent enough to take holiday photos and send out a professional-looking holiday card this year, you might have had moments of regret. Doubt. Shoulda’-s.
Or maybe you’re not really a holiday-card-sending type of traditionalist.
Either way, I have good news! It’s not too late to send a holiday-focused note of good wishes (plus cute photos of your baby!) to your friends and family. There are plenty of New Year’s e-cards that look just as fancy as a paper version, yet are easier and faster to make. Oh, and did I mention FREE? Even a non-traditionalist will have a hard time passing up these modern design-friendly e-cards. Especially if it’s your baby’s first New Year!

Best Photo e-Cards: Paperless Post
Paperless Post is, in general, my favorite e-card source — based on sheer variety of quality designs, especially if you want to include a family photo with your New Year’s wish.
This e-card, Healthy Happy Photo, is designed by “Hello Tenfold,” with a letterpress look.
Best Designs: Paperless Post
Without question, Paperless Post has the best designs in the e-card world. This one, Confetti Baronial, is designed by Kate Spade New York.
Best for Traditionalists: Punchbowl (Warm Wishes)
Punchbowl e-cards look most like traditional greeting cards you’ll find in the drugstore — but without the price tag or postage.
Best for a Laugh: JibJab
Best known as the “Elf Yourself” videos, these insert-your-own-photo dancing e-cards are HAH-LARIOUS. Want to send one out as a New Year’s card? Try the Winter Wonderland penguin e-card.

Best Video e-Cards: Animoto (Fireworks)
Animoto has these digital video e-cards that are extremely easy to make. Just insert your favorite 2012 photos; they’ll play like a slideshow over a holiday background (like Fireworks!) before sharing a personalized New Year’s message. It’s sort of like a digital version of a family year-in-review letter — only prettier.

Best Mobile e-Cards: Sincerely Inc. Ink Cards
For those on-the-go parents, you can send out an e-card straight from your phone with apps like Sincerely Ink. I’ve tried several free e-card apps (like Red Stamp), but I especially like the designs from Ink Cards.
Best for Snarky Adult Humor: someecards
These are the kind of New Year’s cards your friends really want to open.

Although Pingg.com has plenty of free e-cards, it’s their Premium Pingg designs that really shine. This one — New Year Cheer — can be sent to over 250 people for $10.
